About Us
The Law Offices of Zev Goldstein PLLC provides you with quality representation of traffic tickets and driving-related crimes like DWI/DUI, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation / driving on a suspended license, suspended license and the like. We have successfully resolved over 25,000 cases.

We make it as simple and easy as possible for our clients.

We also take "last minute" cases so even if your court date is today or very soon, we can help.

In addition, we handle post-conviction cases; even if your driver's license has already been suspended or revoked we are often able to help you. Vacating a conviction, or rescinding/terminating a suspension order can restore your privileges and put you back on the road - legally!

Clients choose our firm to fight their tickets because:

• We can get violations reduced so your auto insurance premium doesn't skyrocket.

• We protect your driver's license from getting suspended or revoked by careful negotiation.

• We save you time: in most cases you don't need to come to court.

• Our knowledge of the law and the court system & our experience as both Traffic Court prosecutors and Traffic Court defense counsel gives us a competitive advantage, obtaining the best possible results, saving you time, money and aggravation.

We save you money by negotiating for lesser offenses thus reducing the fine amount and points.

Points matter.

Any driver (even out-of-state drivers) who accumulates six points will be billed a $300 Driver Responsibility Assessment, plus $75 for each additional point.

And if you accumulate eleven points (based on date of violation - not conviction), your license will be suspended, or revoked.

In some cases we might obtain a reduction to a non-moving violation, which means no points, and no insurance consequence.

In other cases the reduction may still carry points (fewer), but may not affect your insurance.

The biggest potential area in terms of money is insurance. It's not the points. In New York, points do not affect insurance directly. Insurance companies in New York raise rates because of the type of violation(s) you have.

In most cases we are able to obtain reductions to violations that do not affect insurance rates.

For more difficult situations (such as high speeds or if you already have a bad record) the reductions we obtain on your behalf will result in fewer points and lesser fines than if you just plead guilty.

This is a true story that happened to a client of mine,Grandmother arrested!!!

Her husband told her that he'd paid that delinquent car insurance bill: but what she didn't know landed her in jail.

In the mountains this past summer, Bubbe was driving the family car, obeying all the traffic rules, minding her own business. Good Bubbe.

Police Officer Edwards, on patrol was excited with the new capabilities of the on-board computer: he can run a "real-time" search through the Department of Motor Vehicles.

The license plates are in "plain view", the constitutional protection against unreasonable search and seizure does not apply. If the car is on the road, it is fair game. The issue: is the car properly registered?

New York State Law requires that all motor vehicles have insurance. A car can't be registered unless the owner has an insurance policy in force.

Car insurance is expensive. Many people take advantage of paying for the policy over time, with installments.

One consequence of not making the installment payment is that policy terminates (goes out of effect) and the car is not insured. Sure, the policy can be re-instated once the payment is made, but for that time period between the policy termination and the re-instatement there will be a lapse of coverage.

Your insurance policy is a contract between you and your insurance company. You and the company (broker) communicate: they send you a bill, you send them money.

Your insurance company also must communicate with the Department of Motor Vehicles about your payments. In the event that you have a lapse of coverage, because of lack of payment, a consequence applies to your car registration.
